California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator I position.
The University: California State University, Los Angeles, under the leadership of President, William A. Covino, is one of 23 campuses of the California State University system. Founded in 1947, the University is in the city of Los Angeles, adjacent to the San Gabriel Valley, and has more than 28,000 students who reflect the rich ethnic diversity of the area.
The Position: Reporting to the Senior Director, the incumbent will lead and direct strategic implementation of programs and services for the Glazer Family Dreamers Resource Center (GFDRC). The incumbent will create and implement plans to ensure undocumented Cal State LA students have access to and utilization of quality advising and academic support as well as wellness services to achieve academic and personal goals; provide guidance in the development of workshops, mentoring, tutoring, and advising for undocumented students; collaborate with faculty, staff and key departments; lead UndocuAlly program to train campus constituents on needs of undocumented students; serve as chief fiscal manager and administrator of the department; ensure appropriate fiscal and human resources to achieve goals; develop and maintain contacts with nonprofit agencies and legislative offices that work with undocumented students; identify and plan for changes with laws, legislation and social climate to proactively adapt and create relevant programs and services; follow directives from Chancellor’s Office; develop and maintain a communication plan that promotes the programs and activities of the GFDRC and showcases success; build awareness and collaboration with campus and surrounding community; and work with the Coordinator of the GFDRC in hiring and training student staff, and creating a community space that is conducive to learning and networking.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or college in the social sciences or related field. Three years of progressively responsible professional/administrative experience, with one of the three years in a managerial role required. Incumbent must have experience in supervision, budgeting and student services. Incumbent must have knowledge of student development, counseling and advising on current trends/issues related to college students; interviewing and hiring; and understanding of unique issues that impact undocumented and AB540 students in higher education. Incumbent must be able to perform assessments of programs and student learning outcomes and analyze results; prepare reports; develop policy; track expenditures; manage overall budget; maintain effective cost center; collaborative, influential, resourceful, strong and effective communication skills, marketing and negotiation; and ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Desired Qualifications: A master's degree from an accredited college or university and knowledge of student development theory.

Appointment: The Administrator I appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
